Instead of beginning our series on color with a whole bunch of knowledge being poured over you, i would much rather involve you in the process.
We are going to be learning about color psychology. Which basically takes a very analytical look at how each color, and various combinations of color, makes us feel, and how it influences the way we perceive things in those colors.
Many people have spoken on this topic, and i will do my best to compile the best and most applicable research i can find. But, especially because written knowledge on this topic is so saturated, and can be very opinionated because of personal and cultural differences, i don’t want to begin with simply passing on information. To me, it matters more that this is a discovery process for each of us…How do we as individuals perceive each color? How do they make you feel? Live data is so much more fun and personal! It will help me to create more relatable posts for you.
So, this post is an interactive one i hope you will all participate in!

Beautiful color! What do you think it is about it that you love so much?

I think it’s because it’s a color you find in pansies and a few other flowers.

That’s beautiful!
Sorry to get back to you so late from your comment–I hope i can still get a response!: Do pansies have a special significance to you?

Really interesting survey! It’s always interesting to see how colour affects emotions and how we perceive those colours. Do the analytics track which country each answer came from? It would be interesting to see how it differs via country/culture.

That’s one thing i thought i would have loved to track, and wish i had!
I hadn’t added that because i didn’t want to be annoying, making everybody have to add their country on EVERY COLOR…And that was the only way i could have done it, since don’t know of a way to track information between the various surveys, being that it’s all Google Forms.
I totally agree that getting to see which answers came from which cultures would have been extremely fascinating though! I will be adding a little bit of that sort of information in the follow up post, via research from color psychology professionals i’m reading up on.
Thank you for participating! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it!

This is a really neat activity. I honestly didn’t realize that I hated red so much. I honestly thought pink or or blue would be my best colors, but suprisingly green was! Finding out new things about myself lol

Interesting! What do you think it is about red that you hate? And what brought you to the conclusion that green is a better color for you than pink or blue?
🙂 Green is one of my recent surprising favorites right now, too. I used to hate it because i couldn’t find the right shades…the ones i always did find had a way with grossing me out.

Very interesting survey, especially thinking about what you associate with certain colors! My favorite colors are royal blue and hot pink, two colors I associate with confidence.

Thank you!
I love it…Can totally see how you associate both colors with confidence. One is widespread considered to be professional, and the other is very bold. Additionally, a little bit of both together can look lovely!
Thanks for participating! 🙂

Pink is my best color 🙂 but I am not a girly – girl ..Haha! The questionnare was fun btw. Had me thinking deep :).

Pink is wonderful! Did you know that it originally was the ” baby boy” color while blue was the “girl” color, because it’s so energetic? I was a little surprised by that. 20th century consumerism turned pink into a “girly” thing. I love the delicate energy of that color and hope it will continue to get more respect from women and men alike, of all ages!
Do you have a favorite shade?
I’m glad you enjoyed the questionaire! That encouragement of deep thinking was exactly what i hoped it would do. 😊
